Best Credit Cards for Beginners

The challenge of applying for a credit card when you have little to no credit history is that your lack of credit history could make it difficult to get a traditional credit card needed build that history. Here are a list of three cards that are ideal for beginners:


1) Discover it Secured Card



This card is perfect for building credit for those with no or bad credit. Secured cards require you to put down a certain security deposit and you will then be given an equivalent credit line. This card doesn’t charge any annual fees unlike a few other secured cards ( Visa, I'm looking at you) and includes a 1% cash-back reward on all purchases.



2) The Bank of America Cash Rewards card



This card is ideal for those that have a few months of credit history and good credit standing. This has a $200 bonus when you spend $1000 in the first 90 days. There is a 3% cash back on any category of your choice, 2% cashback on grocery stores, and 1% on other categories. No annual fees.


3) Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card

The quicksilver card gives you $150 when you spend $500 in the first three months and a 1.5% cashback on all purchases. There are also no foreign transaction fees which is perfect if you travel frequently.





additional tip: when looking for your first credit card, find something with no annual fees! there is reason to be paying annual fees for a credit card
